Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of Risk

By creating a profile on Braille, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept all risks associated with meeting strangers online and in person, including but not limited to physical harm, emotional distress, financial loss, and any other harm that may result from interactions with other users. You assume full and sole responsibility for your own safety and the safety of any person accompanying you when meeting another user.

2. No Liability — Platform Is a Facilitator Only

Braille is a technology platform that facilitates introductions between consenting adults. We do not conduct background checks, verify the identity, age, or intentions of users, or guarantee the accuracy of any information provided on a profile.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BRAILLE, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES — including but not limited to personal injury, death, property damage, emotional distress, loss of data, or any other loss — arising out of or in connection with your use of this platform or your interactions with any other user, whether online or in person.

3. User Conduct & Safety

You agree to:

  • Meet first dates in public, well-lit locations
  • Inform a trusted friend or family member of your plans
  • Never share sensitive personal information (home address, financial details, workplace) with matches
  • Trust your instincts and leave any situation that feels unsafe
  • Not engage in harassment, threatening behavior, or any illegal activity toward other users
  • Report any suspicious or harmful behavior via the in-app report feature

Failure to follow these guidelines does not transfer liability to Braille. You remain solely responsible for your own actions and decisions at all times.

4. No Warranties

The platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that matches will result in any particular outcome.

5. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Braille and its owners, operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the platform, your interactions with other users, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

6. Minimum Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Braille. By creating a profile, you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we discover or have reason to believe a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
  • Use the platform for commercial solicitation, spam, or scamming
  • Engage in any illegal activity through the platform
  • Share explicit, violent, or otherwise offensive content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform

Violations may result in immediate account termination without notice or refund. We reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement where required.

8. Limitation of Liability Cap

To the extent any liability is found against Braille despite the above disclaimers, our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of the platform shall not exceed $0 (zero dollars) or, where a minimum is required by law, the minimum amount permitted under applicable law.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, and you waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

10. Date Commitments & No-Show Policy

When you schedule a date through Braille, you are making a commitment to another person who has invested time and emotional energy into connecting with you. We ask that you honor that commitment.

You agree to:

  • Make a genuine effort to attend any date you agree to
  • Cancel or reschedule as early as possible if your plans change — not at the last minute
  • Communicate through the app chat if you need to cancel, rather than simply not showing up
  • Treat your match with the same respect and consideration you would want for yourself

Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in account warnings, restrictions on scheduling, or account termination at Braille's sole discretion. We reserve the right to take action on accounts that exhibit a pattern of disrespectful behavior toward other users.

11. Data Collection & Verification Practices

To help maintain a safe and authentic community, Braille collects and processes the following types of data as part of our identity and safety verification process:

  • Phone Number Verification: We collect your phone number solely to verify that you are a real, unique person. Your phone number is never displayed to other users and is not used for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
  • Photo Verification: You may be asked to submit a verification photo, which is reviewed by our moderation team to confirm your identity matches your profile photo. This photo is never shown to other users and is deleted after review.
  • Social Profile Verification: Optionally, you may submit a LinkedIn or Instagram profile link to further verify your identity. This link is reviewed by our moderation team only and is never shared with or visible to other users.
  • Message Moderation: Messages sent through the platform may be reviewed by automated AI systems to detect harassment, threatening behavior, or other prohibited content. Flagged messages may be reviewed by our moderation team.

All verification data is handled with strict confidentiality. We do not sell, share, or use your verification information for any purpose other than platform safety. By using Braille, you consent to the collection and use of this data as described above.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

By creating or maintaining a profile on Braille, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in their entirety, and that you voluntarily assume all risks described herein.
